Massage Therapist - Ashland
As a massage therapist, Mark Machala has been helping manage people’s pain for over
15 years. He began learning massage techniques during martial arts training. His jujitsu
classes always ended with massage, the philosophy being that the martial and healing
systems are integrally related.
A healer studies martial arts to improve focus, alignment, stance, and power. Learning to direct the power with good alignment allows the massage therapist to offer more energy to the client. The healing knowledge also enhances the martial training with a deeper knowledge of the human body and enhanced sensitivity.
After practicing in this style, Mark Machala began to especially value and look forward
to the healing portion of the training. He decided to move to Redding, California to study
this style of jujitsu massage in depth and became certified to practice professionally as a
massage therapist.
Dr. Mark Machala’s style of massage therapy uses long, deep strokes, often with the forearm. The massage releases muscular tension, fascial restrictions, and adhesions, while allowing Dr. Machala to assess your condition. This is often followed with a gentle chiropractic adjustment. He also works as a massage therapist offering the option of a deep healing massage without chiropractic adjustment.
